For my digital artefact I choose to write about my experiences at various music festivals and events that I attended. I thought this was a good way for other young individuals interested in music festivals to see what it’s like.
I used my website Blonde Bombout to post my blogs of Spilt Milk 2018 and Berlin Experiment 2019 so far with Groovin the Moo 2019 coming soon. One major struggle that I encountered was my video editing skills, and finding a program that my computer could process in order to edit the videos. I thought that it was important to include videos because they give my blog a little extra something and more personal than just few written hundred words. Although I didn’t have constant updates, I was continuously updating behind the scenes and writing and editing my articles. Editing videos took almost 3 weeks out of my initial phase because I didn’t want to post an incomplete blog.
My original DA comprised of me also adding local events and gigs that were happening around Wollongong so fellow followers could experience events they might not have seen before. This proved to be very time-consuming investing into events that I wasn’t planned on going to taking away from concentration from my project.
Since project Pitch I have shorten my content range to just events I’m attending. As for feedback I haven’t received much so I’ve had to reply on my own self-assessment. Time management still an issue as with my video editing skills, although its poorly produced I had fun in trying to create something different and out of my comfort zone. Updated my blogs theme to connect with its content. My online traction has increased slightly from week 1 to week 9 which will hopefully increase as I post more content.
I planned on just using my website and twitter to post my content, but recently have included YouTube to post just the videos of each article making it available on multiple platforms.
Looking forward to seeing how my project develops further.
