Prototyping BlondeBombout

The prototyping phase can be crucial for further development of your chosen project this is because, it’s the second last stage before your idea is ‘published’ into the world as a finished digital artefact, your prototype should give your audience an overall sense of how your finished artefact would work in reality . After you’ve tested your prototype and its interaction with the audience you can decide whether to continue your progress or completely start over, the remaking phase allows for the most improvement through utilizing previous feedback and incorporating this constructive criticism into your final draft.

BlondeBombout originally started out as a place where I could post cheap and easy recipes for poor university students like myself, I realised my cooking ability and eating habits would hinder this. I went back to the ideation phase and worked towards using my passion for attending music festivals to create a blog for reviewing my experience at various events, this proved to be really fun for myself having to reexperience the event and attempting to convey the same experience to my audience through a mixture of written medium.

My main struggle still at the prototyping phase is feedback and my editing skills, both challenges can be managed and are improving.

To overcome my first struggle, I have been trying to be more socially aware in order to increase my online activity, after reading the material provided to us in multiple lectures, I found that sharing your progress helps your targeted audience and potential future audience see the process behind your DA. My attempts to prompt BlondeBombout didn’t initially go as planned however, I discovered that posting my articles on just my blog and promoting it via Twitter wasnt enough to gain an immense amount of engagement from my audience and I acted by additionally uploading my edited video from the festival I attended onto YouTube and sharing that link back on to twitter.

Editing my video was the hardest part for me, undergoing a new skill I started trying to use programs such as VideoPad Video Editor and Wondershare this proved to be too complex for my amateurness and I stuck between using Filmora and good old iMovie.

Although my audience has been slow to pick up I did gain a few extra followers since last blog post, this tells me that content curation is a key element in progressing your project, the more original content you create the higher success rate for your business because of exposure.

Until next time!
